Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ordering, file preparation, turnaround times, and shipping.

Ordering

How do I place an order?

+
The easiest way is to use our online calculators to get a price, then email us your artwork. For custom projects, just get in touch via email or phone and we'll guide you through the process.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

+
No minimum for most digital print products. We're short-run specialists — even a single business card or poster is fine. For screen printing (garments), the minimum is usually 10 units.

Do you offer design services?

+
Yes! Our in-house design team can create your artwork from scratch or work with your existing branding. Design fees are quoted separately based on complexity.

Do you provide proofs?

+
We always send a digital proof (PDF) for your approval before printing. For premium jobs like letterpress, we can arrange a physical proof — just ask.

File Preparation

What file format should I send?

+
PDF is preferred for most jobs. We also accept AI (Illustrator), PSD (Photoshop), and INDD (InDesign) files. For risograph, we need spot colour separations — one layer per ink colour.

What resolution do I need?

+
300 DPI minimum at final print size. For large format work (banners, signage), 150 DPI at full size is usually sufficient. Vector artwork (AI, EPS, PDF) can be scaled to any size.

What is bleed and why do I need it?

+
Bleed is the area beyond the trim edge that ensures your design prints right to the edge with no white borders. We need 3mm bleed on all sides for most products. Keep important text and logos at least 5mm from the trim edge (safe zone).

Do you have templates I can use?

+
Yes — email us and we'll send you a template for your specific product in the format you need (PDF, AI, PSD, or InDesign). Templates include bleed, safe zone, and trim marks.

Pricing & Payment

Are prices shown including GST?

+
Prices on our website are shown excluding GST by default. You can toggle the GST display using the EX/INC switch in the header. All invoices will show GST at 15%.

How do I pay?

+
We accept bank transfer, credit/debit card, and cash. For new customers, we require payment before printing. Account terms are available for regular business clients.

Turnaround & Delivery

How long does printing take?

+
Standard turnaround is 3–5 working days for digital print (business cards, flyers). Specialty work (letterpress, foil, risograph) is typically 5–7 days. Large or complex jobs may take longer — we'll confirm when you order.

Do you deliver?

+
Yes! Free collection from our Oneroa studio. We courier throughout Waiheke and the rest of New Zealand. Courier charges are added at cost — usually $6–$12 for most NZ destinations.

Can you do rush/urgent jobs?

+
We'll always try our best. Same-day or next-day turnaround is sometimes possible for simple digital print jobs. Give us a call and we'll let you know what's feasible.
